Install the correct driver

Check if the necessary drivers are installed and correctly set up on your computer. If not, download and install the appropriate driver for your xTool device:
  • CH340 Driver: For D Series
  • gs32 Driver: For S1
  • RNDIS Driver: For F1 Ultra, F1, M1 Ultra, M1, P2 Series

Verify the driver

According to the following operation, confirm whether the driver is successfully installed on your computer:

  • Option 1: Go to xTool Creative Space settings => File Setting =>Developer mode. If the "Installed" buttons on the "Install driver" section are gray, it indicates their proper installation.
  • Option 2: Connect the USB and open the Device Manager on your computer to check the device driver status as follows.

#1 Check the CH340 Driver

  1. It could be the driver program needed for the connection is missing or not installed properly.
  2. For computers using Windows, or macOS lower than the 10.15 version, XCS may prompt you to install the driver. If not, try the following instructions to install the driver manually.
  3. For the macOS version that is 10.15 or higher, you don't need to install the CH340 driver.
  4. Download the installation packages below:

After the installation, please check the COM port:

For Windows

  1.  Connect the machine to the computer using the USB cable that comes with the product.
  2.  Download and install the CH340 driver (clickable). You may need to reboot your computer during installation.
    • Please follow the installation instructions to ensure that the driver is installed successfully.
    •  Contact xTool technical support if an error message appears during the installation.
  3.  Go to the Device Manager and see if the driver is installed successfully.
    •  Right-click on the desktop and select [Manage].
    •  Select [Device Manager], click on [Port], and check if there is a COM port named CH340 (which means your device has been successfully recognized by the computer).
    •  If there is no COM port displayed, please refer to Step #2 to troubleshoot.

  1.  If you can see the CH340 COM port in Device Manager, but your device is still not recognized in XCS, the driver may be blocked by the security software. In this case, please turn off the firewall or other security software and reinstall the driver.

For macOS

  3.  Restart the computer and refer to the path: System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> General -> Allow.
    •  Give permission to load the CH340 driver. During the operation, you may need to restart the computer. Please follow the on-screen instructions.
    •  Reconnect the device, by which time XCS should be able to find your device.
    •  If the Allow button somehow won't work, please read on for a solution.

#2 Install the COM port driver

The operating system on your computer may need a specific driver program to support the USB connection of the xTool S1. If it’s not installed or missing, XCS won’t be able to detect the machine.

Note: This solution is applicable if you are using a Windows 7 computer, as macOS and Windows 10 or above has native support for the driver, and Windows 8 doesn’t support this driver at the moment.

To determine if the driver is missing for Windows 7:

  1. Go to Device Manager. You can access it through the search bar under the Start Menu.
  2. Under the Ports (COM & LPT) dropdown list, You should find COM 6.
  3. If you don’t see it, please download the driver here and install it manually.
Enter “device manager” in the search bar
Find the COM port
Install the Com Port Driver

For Mac users:

Open Terminal and run the command system_profiler SPUSBDataType to view connected USB devices. If the output is as shown, the physical connection between the device and the computer is normal.

Additionally, you can execute ls /dev/tty.* in Terminal. If you see listed serial devices (usually starting with "/dev/tty." like "/dev/tty.usbserial"), it indicates that the USB connection is normal.

#3 Check the RNDIS Driver

Check if the driver program exists in the following way.
  • a. Right-click the start button on your computer.
  • b. Click Device Manager
  • c. Click Network adapters and check if the USB Ethernet/RNDIS Gadget exists.
