What is Power (%)
In xTool Creative Space (XCS), the Power function refers to the power of the laser. The higher the power, the deeper the laser carves into the material surface. Valid value: [1, 100], integer.
How to Set Power
In XCS, users can set the Power of the laser for different materials and processing modes, such as engraving or cutting. The choice of power value depends on the material and processing requirements.
You can select power values in two ways:
(1) Move the progress bar.
(2) Click on the power value and change it directly to your desired data.
Tips & Tricks
Material Properties
Different materials have different absorption and reflection properties of laser light, so the power needs to be adjusted according to the material properties. If the power is set too high, it may leave burn marks on the material or even burn through the material.
Relationship between Speed and Power
While setting the Power, the Speed of laser processing needs to be considered. If the speed is too fast or the power is too low, it may not be possible to preview the processed area clearly, so these two parameters need to be adjusted appropriately.
Recommended Power
The xTool Material EasySet Library contains the suitable parameters for xTool materials, with power data to help the user quickly find the right machining power for a specific material on a specific model.
Self-test Power
You can also set the power based on your own test results. The Material Test Array function in xTool Creative Space generates automatic test arrays for your design patterns. In this way, you can visualize the effect of different power settings on the final product.
