P2S Troubleshooting: "Water tank temperature too high"
Updated Jan 14,2025
Updated Jan 14,2025

Overview

When the P2S is connected to xTool Creative Space (XCS) for processing, an error message may appear, indicating that the water tank temperature is too high, as shown in the image below.
This issue can arise due to several factors, including:
  • incorrect antifreeze mixture,
  • high ambient temperature,
  • malfunctioning water cooling fan, or
  • issues with the temperature sensor.
This troubleshooting article outlines potential causes and provides step-by-step troubleshooting instructions to resolve the problem.

Troubleshooting procedure

#1 Control ambient temperature

Ensure the machine is operating in an environment with a temperature between 10°C and 30°C (50°F to 86°F).
  • Use air conditioning to regulate room temperature.
  • Position fans to direct airflow toward the back of the machine to enhance heat dissipation and maintain optimal cooling performance.

#2 Check water cooling fans and vents

Observe fan operation

  • Confirm that the three water cooling fans at the bottom of the machine are functioning correctly.
Note: The fans will operate at a slower speed when idle and at a faster speed when the machine is in operation.

Ensure Proper Vent Clearance

  • Ensure the ventilation holes at the back of the machine are not blocked or obstructed by a wall or other object, which can impede airflow.

#3 Check airflow with paper test

Use a piece of paper to check the airflow during operation (as shown in the video below)

  • The paper should be drawn upwards when placed near the water cooling fans.
  • The paper should be blown away when placed near the ventilation holes at the back.

#4 Clean water cooling radiator or water cooling fans

If the water cooling radiator or fans are significantly dirty (see image below for location), they may require cleaning.

#5 Adjust antifreeze mixture

For specific antifreeze and purified water proportions under varying temperatures, refer to the following table:

💡 Note: If the ambient temperature consistently remains above 0°C, consider using 100% purified water or distilled water as the coolant for improved heat dissipation. Ensure that the water is free from impurities to prevent damage to the machine or disruptions to the cooling system.
