This guide is tailored for all xTool P2 Series machines.
Applicable scenario
While using the "Close shot" feature, if you encounter a deviation over 1mm between the element on the software canvas and the actual processing result, please follow the instructions below to determine whether this error is within an acceptable range before taking any further actions.
Switch to Close-shot: On xTool Creative Space's left toolbar, insert any "Basic shape" (refer to the image below) before clicking on the "Close shot" feature.
Input Recommended Parameters and Process: Laser-score the element onto a piece of 3mm basswood with default xTool materials processing parameters under the "Process on slats" mode.
Camera Refresh: After processing, DO NOT open the lid; instead, refresh the camera view.
If the actual processing result does not align with the shape on the canvas and the deviation exceeds 1mm, follow the calibration steps below to correct the positioning accuracy of the close-view camera.

Calibration procedure
#1 Calibration preparation
Click on the gear icon in the upper right corner to access "Device settings".
Based on your computer's operating system, press the corresponding keyboard shortcut to load the "Distance measurement" option:
For Win: Ctrl + Shift + C
For macOS: Command+ Shift ⇧ +C
Locate the "Close-view camera" and click on "Calibrate".
#2 First measurement
Place a sheet of A4 paper on a 3mm acrylic sheet and secure the paper with tape on all sides. Ensure no wrinkles.
Install slats onto the laser device while leaving two slots empty between each two slats.
Place the acrylic sheet on the slats and close the lid. Click the "Next" button to proceed.
Hit the physical button on the laser device to initiate the calibration file processing. Await the processing to complete.
#3 Result comparison
Once the processing is complete, you will be reminded, "The calibration file has been generated. Please compare the following two graphics. Are they the same?"
Open the lid to compare the actual calibration result (on the right) with the XCS reference (on the left):
If they match, select "Yes" to proceed.
If they do not match, click "No" to repeat the previous calibration step.
#4 Second measurement
Remove all slats and place a new sheet of A4 paper at the center of the baseplate. Secure the paper with tape around all edges to ensure it is flat without wrinkles on the baseplate.
Close the lid and click "Next".
Once all the slats have been removed and the A4 sheet is properly secured, click "Confirmed" to proceed.
Hit the physical button on the laser device to initiate the calibration file processing. Await the processing to complete.
#5 Result comparison
Once the processing is complete, you will be reminded, “The calibration file has been generated. Please compare the following two graphics. Are they the same?”
Open the lid to compare the actual calibration result (on the right) with the XCS reference (on the left):
If they match, select "Yes" to complete the Close-view Camera Calibration.
If they do not match, click "No" to perform the calibration again
📌 Important note If you are prompted to recalibrate again, this indicates an issue occurred during calibration; please repeat the calibration procedure.
