When the laser path indicator glitches, can it be repaired?

  • Unfortunately, the laser path indicator cannot be repaired.
  • Due to the structural position of the laser path indicator and the laser tube, along with production process factors, it is all but impossible to maintain the red dot from the indicator and the actual laser path from the laser tube at the same horizontal position without minor deviation. Typically, a deviation of about 3mm is expected at the third-level optical path hole, and in severe cases, it can reach up to 6.5mm. Hence, it is recommended to use the red dot only as a reference for optical path calibration, not as a precise verification point.
  • However, rest assured that the unexpected failure of the indicator does not compromise the primary operation of the P2S. Hence, in cases where the laser path indicator malfunctions, the optical path can still be calibrated using the same method as the P2 model to ensure normal operation.
  • For further assistance, our dedicated xTool Customer Service team is always here to help!

Is it normal for the red dot of the laser path indicator to deviate from the actual laser path?

  • Yes, this is normal.
  • The laser path indicator is an additional feature designed to assist with P2S optical path calibration. Due to the structural positioning of the laser path indicator and the laser tube, along with production process factors, it is nearly impossible to maintain the red dot from the indicator and the actual laser path from the laser tube at the same horizontal position without minor deviation. This means a deviation between 1.5mm to 3mm is within the acceptable range of production standards. For optimal results, it is advisable to follow xTool Creative Space (XCS) calibration instructions to adjust the actual optical path accordingly.

Can the laser path indicator be removed from the laser tube to replace it?

  • No, the laser path indicator cannot be removed or replaced. It is securely located on the laser tube and equipped with anti-tampering labels. Attempting to disassemble it will invalidate the component, resulting in the replacement of the entire laser tube.

How should the filter screens be cleaned?

The filter screens are magnetically mounted to the machine, making them easy to detach and clean. To clean the screens, follow these steps:

  • Detach the Screens: Carefully remove the filter screens from the machine.
  • Rinse with Clean Water: Rinse the screens thoroughly with clean water.
  • Scrub Off Residual Dirt: If necessary, use a brush to scrub off any residual dirt.
  • For more, refer to this video tutorial: How to Clean the Filter Screens of P2S

Why does xTool Creative Space (XCS) prompt to clean the filter screens every 4 hours?

  • The exceptionally powerful smoke exhaust fan ensures optimal performance. However, this power comes with the need for regular maintenance. To keep your machine running at its best, the filter screens should be cleaned every 4 hours during continuous operation. This simple step guarantees that your machine remains in peak condition, delivering the superior performance you expect.

How should the smoke exhaust fan be cleaned?

  • The smoke exhaust fan has a dustproof and waterproof rating of IP56, meaning it cannot be submerged in water. However, regular cleaning is essential to maintain its performance.
  • For more, refer to this video tutorial: How to Clean the Smoke Exhaust Fan of P2S

Will the smoke exhaust fan be available for individual purchase on the xTool website in the future?

  • Yes, it will be available for sale on the xTool website. Stay tuned for updates and availability.

Can the parameter of P2S's Air Pump be set to 0?

  • The parameter of P2S's Air Pump can't be set to 0.
  • P2S features a dual-cylinder air pump, providing a more stable airflow and delivering air pressure up to 200 kPa, which is 33% higher than that of P2. However, in software settings, P2S's air pump can only be adjusted to a minimum of 10%, while the previous P2 allowed settings as low as 30%.
  • It’s recommended to increase the air pump parameter during cutting and reduce it for engraving. Adjustments should be made based on the specific requirements of the material being processed.

What is the power consumption of P2S, and how much electricity does it use per hour?

P2S has an input power of 100V - 120V AC, 60Hz, and 700W. This means it consumes 700 watts, or 0.7 kilowatt-hours (kWh), of electricity per hour. If you want to calculate its daily or monthly power consumption, you can use the following formula:
  • Hourly Consumption: 0.7 kWh
  • Daily Consumption: 0.7 kWh × daily usage duration

Will using P2S at 100% power output affect the machine's lifespan?

  • Using P2S at 100% power output will not affect the machine's lifespan.
  • P2S's 100% power setting has been rigorously tested for long-term reliability, ensuring that customers can use it with ressurance without worrying about its impact on the machine's lifespan. The 100% power setting in the P2S corresponds to the software-defined limit rather than the absolute maximum output of the laser tube itself. All provided parameters are within a safe operational range. For cutting tasks, we recommend using 100% power to achieve cleaner results and avoid blackened edges. While the P2S's laser tube is capable of producing higher power levels, operating at such levels could significantly reduce its lifespan. The current 100% power setting has been meticulously tested to balance safety and performance, ensuring optimal machine lifespan.

Can P2S be used with an external air pump?

No, P2S (and P2) do not support the use of external air pumps.
The P2/P2S is equipped with a built-in air pump that optimizes processing results. When the machine is in operation, real-time communication between the air pump and the mainboard is essential for accurately transmitting their respective operational status information. However, external air pumps do not support this real-time communication feature, which is why the P2 and P2S cannot be used with external air pumps.
