Issue description

  • If you encounter an error pop-up message within xTool Creative Space (XCS) that states "Ink module chip read/write exception", please follow this guide for advice to settle the issue.

Why does it happen

  1. The ink module may not be installed correctly.
  2. The ink module may be malfunctioning.
  3. The Z-axis control board may be experiencing a breakdown.

How to fix it

#1 Reinstall the ink module

  1. Detach the module and reinstall it to ensure proper installation. Press it down until there's a click sound (refer to the image below).
  2. Secure the module in place by fastening the locking clamp (refer to the image below).
  3. If this does not resolve the issue, proceed to the next step.

#2 Conduct a cross-test with another processing module

  1. Remove the currently installed ink module from your M1 Ultra.
  2. Install an alternate processing module from your M1 Ultra package.
  3. Test the alternate processing module with a process project.
  4. Evaluate the results:
    1. If the alternate processing module operates properly, please contact xTool Customer Service at support@xtool.com for further assistance.
    2. If the alternate module does not operate correctly, this rules in a breakdown of the Z-axis control board. Continue to the next step.

#3 Replace the Z-axis control board

  1. Please follow the video tutorial below to replace the broken-down Z-axis control board (refer to the image below).
