Issue description

If M1 shuts down or reboots unexpectedly and xTool Creative Space (XCS) prompts that the device is disconnected, refer to this guide for troubleshooting.

Why does it happen

Possible causes include:

  • Adapter issues;
  • Short circuit inside the laser module (either broken connection cable or malfunctioning printed circuit board);

How to fix it

#1 Use the original power adapter

  1. Ensure Proper Adapter Use: Since using an adapter with incorrect power specifications may lead to malfunctions or even damage to the machine, ensure the appropriate use of the original power adapter.
  2. Test the Output Voltage: If a multimeter is available at hand, use it to test the adapter’s output voltage to check if the adapter is working properly. Inspect if the output voltage is within the acceptable range (10W: 13.5V | 5W: 12V).
  3. If the output voltage is significantly above or below the acceptable range, it hints at a glitch with the adapter. Please replace it to resolve the issue.
  4. For a replacement, please contact xTool Customer Service at support@xtool.com.
  5. If this does not resolve the issue, proceed to the next step.

#2 Replace the broken cable or printed circuit board

V2.1 or later
V1.7 or before
  1. Cross-test the machine with a processing project in both the "Process on baseplate" and "Blade cut" modes. For the purpose of this test in "Blade cut" mode, it is advisable to conduct the test without the blade and materials to avoid unnecessary consumption.
  2. Inspect if the machine only shuts down or reboots itself during the laser engraving operation.
  3. If the issue occurs only during laser engraving, it suggests the shutdown or reboot is due to connection cables or printed circuit board failure inside the laser module. Please replace them to settle the issue.
  4. Contact xTool Customer Service at support@xtool.com for replacements. Include a detailed description of the issue, the serial number (SN | refer to the image below) on the back of your M1, your recipient information, and a list of the troubleshooting results you have already attempted to help us determine the appropriate course of action promptly.
