Troubleshoot ERR 006: Onboard Temperature Overheat or Sensor Exception
Updated Jul 11,2024
Updated Jul 11,2024

Issue description

When you encounter "ERR 006" on Smart Control during Smart Press or Mini Press operation, with its light indicator (see the images below) flashing red and the buzzer alarming, consult this guide for troubleshooting advice.

Why Does It Happen

  1. The internal temperature of Smart Press or Mini Press exceeds 75℃ (167℉), triggering over-temperature protection. This is especially the case for Mini Press.
  2. The onboard temperature sensor is malfunctioning.

How to fix it

#1 Cool down the machine

  1. Halt any ongoing processing and turn off your machine.
  2. Await your machine to cool down to room temperature and check if it resumes operation.
  3. The error may have been caused by the machine running for an extended period, leading to excessive heat accumulation.
  4. If this does not resolve the issue, proceed to the next step.

#2 Change the operating environment

  1. If the operation proceeds normally, but ERR 006 reappears after a period of continuous operation, it suggests that the machine is functioning correctly, but the operating environment needs to be changed to improve heat dissipation.
  2. Hence, it is recommended to operate your machine under proper ventilation conditions to avoid heat buildup.
  3. If this is not the case, proceed to the next step.

#3 Replace the onboard temperature sensor

  1. If the error code appears upon operating the machine, it may indicate a possible malfunction of the onboard temperature sensor.
  2. In this case, please contact our xTool Customer Service at support@xtool.com for a replacement. Include the serial number (SN) of your machine, a video demonstrating the issue, and your delivery information to help us determine the most appropriate course of action promptly.
