xTool F1 Ultra supports online processing and offline processing.
Online processing
You can connect xTool F1 Ultra with machine-controlling software and operate xTool F1 Ultra to process materials by using the software. This process is called online processing.
xTool F1 Ultra can be operated by using xTool official software xTool Creative Space (XCS), which can be installed on a computer, mobile phone, or iPad.
xTool F1 Ultra can also work with LightBurn, a third-party software.
Offline processing
You can use the touchscreen controller of xTool F1 Ultra to operate the device and perform processing with files stored on a USB flash drive or on the local storage of the machine. This process is called offline processing.
To perform offline processing, you need to prepare a processing file first. Create a processing file on XCS and export it as a .xf file to a USB flash drive or send it to the device. Then you can use the file for offline processing.
Note: For the first time using xTool F1 Ultra, you can use the example file "Cat" pre-stored in the device to experience offline processing.
xTool F1 Ultra supports engraving and embossing of bitmap images, as well as scoring, engraving, and cutting of vectors.
Image engraving
Laser beams hit the surface of the material to change the color of the surface. By creating different shades of color on the material surface, xTool F1 Ultra prints an image on the material.
Image embossing
The bitmap image to be engraved is divided into multiple layers. xTool F1 Ultra follows specific settings to engrave the image layer by layer, carving an embossment out of the material.
Vector scoring
Laser beams walk along the path of the vector graphic, drawing the vector on the material without fillings.
Vector engraving
Laser beams walk through the entire area enclosed by the vector path, engraving the vector on the material with monochromatic fillings.
Vector cutting
Laser beams cut the material along the path of the vector graphic.
Dual lasers
xTool F1 Ultra integrates a 1064 nm fiber infrared laser emitter and a 455 nm diode blue light laser emitter in one, which enables it to process a wide variety of materials, both those that absorb blue light and those that absorb infrared.
You can choose the laser type to use according to the type of material.
Supported materials of blue-light laser: black alumina, metal name card, rock coaster, acrylic, aluminum sheet, wood, corrugated paper, cobblestone, etc.
Supported materials of infrared laser: black alumina, metal name card, rock coaster, acrylic, aluminum sheet, copper sheet, stainless steel, etc.
Auto-focus
xTool F1 Ultra supports auto-focus, which makes laser focusing quick and easy.
Preview before processing
xTool F1 Ultra supports preview before processing, allowing you to preview the processing pattern and position.
xTool F1 Ultra has a built-in camera above the processing area. When using XCS to design processing objects, you can take a photo of the processing area and use it as the canvas background for easy positioning.
Access control
xTool F1 Ultra comes with two keys that can be used to control access to the laser functions. Without the key, the device cannot emit laser beams. The access control prevents children or others who do not have knowledge of laser operation from using the device.
Emergency stop
xTool F1 Ultra is equipped with an emergency stop switch. In case of an emergency, you can press the emergency stop switch to switch off the machine.
Stops when enclosure opened
xTool F1 Ultra is equipped with a protective enclosure that prevents laser beams and smoke from leaking out. With the Stops when enclosure opened function turned on, the device will stop processing if the lid is accidentally opened, thus ensuring the safety of the operators.
Overheat protection
xTool F1 Ultra has an overheat protection mechanism. When the laser module reaches a certain temperature, overheat protection will be triggered to pause the device to prevent it from burning out.
Flame detection
xTool F1 Ultra can detect flames in the processing area. If a flame appears during processing, the device will pause processing and sound an alarm to prevent the risk of fire.
