How to Set you Processing Path with Auto Planning & User Define Mode

In xTool Creative Space v2.0, we have upgraded the algorithm for auto-planning processing paths. It will recognize your pattern type and processing method, and then automatically match the fastest processing path.

When to Use Path Planning:

The new path planning algorithm comes into play when engraving vector images in laser plane mode.
This optimization does not extend to other processing types and processing modes( i.e. laser cylindrical). If the design file includes.
The sequence for processing multiple types in your design remains engrave-score-cut.

Setting Up Your Path:

xTool Creative Space offers two modes for path planning: Auto-plan and User-define, each catering to different project needs.

Auto-Plan Mode:

By default, your project will utilize the Auto-plan mode where the software algorithm automatically determines the most efficient path. It considers various factors like image parameters and spacing, employing a mix of "one-by-one" and "all together" strategies to minimize processing time.

User-Define Mode:

For those who prefer a hands-on approach, the User-define mode allows for customized path settings under laser plane mode.

One-by-One

Ideal for projects with a single pattern or multiple patterns where you want each pattern engraved individually, following the shortest path within each design. This mode ensures the laser skips unengraved areas, optimizing movement.

All Together

This mode takes a comprehensive approach, engraving line by line from top to bottom without skipping any part of the design, regardless of whether it's engraved or not.

Smart Engraving

Exclusive to xTool F1: Smart Engraving is a game-changer for projects with large empty spaces, like engraving within a big rectangle. This feature smartly navigates the laser to avoid blank spaces, significantly reducing travel time and focusing on the areas that matter. When working with multiple patterns, Smart Engraving also optimizes the path within each pattern for maximum efficiency.

Tips for Smart Engraving:

In manual planning mode, activating the Smart Engraving feature without selecting "by layer" will mimic the effect of the Auto-plan mode, offering an intelligent blend of efficiency and precision.

For intricate designs, the Smart Engraving may result in paths that appear to jump around, occasionally leaving gaps to be filled later. Use our preview tool to understand the engraving path better and avoid any surprises.
