Issue description

When this issue happens, you should see a pop-up error message that says "Distance sensor exceptions" with the error code "M363 S0".

Troubleshooting

This error message pops up usually because the distance sensor is missing or falls off during the movement of the laser module. In some cases, improper installation of the sensor may cause bad contact between the sensor and the laser module, which also triggers this error.

#1 Check if the sensor fell off

Look for the distance sensor on the right side of the laser module.

  • If it's missing, see if it fell on the baseplate, pick it up and install it back on.
  • If it's there, make sure it's installed properly. See the following step.

#2 Install the sensor properly

There are two small round slots on the right side of the laser module. They keep the sensor in place when it's magnetically attached. Otherwise, the sensor may keep falling off and not be able to work.

  1. Look for the two round slots at the right side of the laser module.
  2. Make sure the two protruding dots on the sensor fit into the slots.

For details, please refer to this video guide for replacing/installing the distance sensor.

Note: After the sensor is installed back on, please reset it by pushing the probe inwards so it could perform autofocus next time. See the difference between a reset and released probe below.

#3 Replace the sensor with a new one

If you've tried the above steps and the issue persists, it's possible that the sensor itself is faulty.

  1. Please record a short video that shows the sensor is installed properly but still triggers the error.
  2. Contact our support team with the video and tell us what happened.

Based on the situation, we may provide a replacement sensor for you, or other assistance.
