How to Place the Honeycomb Panel on the Riser Base for M1 at the Correct Height
Updated Dec 29,2023
Updated Dec 29,2023

Introduction

Given the fixed focusing range of M1, once exceeding this range, "automatic measure" and "laser focus" will be disabled, potentially leading to processing problems.

Hence, it is paramount, during processing, to position the material surface within the range.

With the surface of the bottom plate at the time of factory shipment as the reference surface 0 mm, the relationship between the focusing range and the XCS automatic measurement range is as follows:

Processing Mode
Focusing Range (mm)

XCS Automatic Measurement Range (mm)
Laser Flat
0~16
0~16
Laser Cylindrical
-19~16
0~34

Open Plane
-19~16
0~34
Blade Cut
No Focusing Required
No Measurement Required

How to Do It

#1 When using the riser base with the honeycomb panel, select either the Open Plane or the Laser Cylindrical for processing.

#2 Refer to the table below for placing the honeycomb panel at the correct height based on the dimensions of the processing material.

Honeycomb Panel Position
Suitable Material Thickness
 (Open Plane)
Suitable Material Circumference
 (Laser Cylindrical - Roller)
Suitable Material Circumference
 (Laser Cylindrical - Chuck)
TOP
0~13mm
Unable to process
Unable to process
α
30~65mm
0 ~ 88mm
Unable to process
β
60~90mm
88~ 220mm
0 ~142mm
γ
90~120mm
220~299mm
142~314mm

#3 If the material size for processing is not included in the table, adjust the material height to ensure the processing surface is within the focusing range while making sure M1 is placed steadily during processing.

Note

As the provided data represents theoretical values, slight variations may occur from actual parameters due to factors including unavoidable assembly tolerances, measurement errors, and flatness discrepancies.
