Troubleshoot "Z-axis driver exception" for xTool P2

Issue description
If you encounter an issue where the laser module on the Z-axis fails to return to the set position after launching xTool P2, you may see a pop-up error message showing "Z-axis driver exception" if the machine is connected to XCS and ready for processing.
To resolve this issue, please follow this troubleshooting guide step by step.
#1 Check the Z-axis leadscrew stepper motor
Power off the machine and remove the magnetic upper cover of the laser module.
Unplug the connection cable of the Z-axis motor to disconnect it from the machine as shown in Pic 2.

Switch on P2 and connect it to XCS to check if the exception reoccurs.
If no error message pops up, it indicates the Z-axis leadscrew stepper motor needs replacement.
If the problem continues, proceed to the next step for further examination.

#2 Check the Z-axis adapter board
Power off the machine and remove the magnetic upper cover of the laser module.
Unplug the connection cable from the Z-axis adapter board as shown in Pic 3.

Switch on P2 and connect it to XCS to check if the exception reoccurs.
If no error message pops up, the Z-axis adapter board needs replacement.
If the issue persists, move on to the next step for further check.

#3 Check the connection cable of the Z-axis adapter board
Power off P2 and disconnect the power supply of the machine.
Refer to the video below to remove the left plate.
Unplug the cable from the main control board as demonstrated in Pic 4.

Check if the exception appears.
If no error message pops up, it means the connection cable of the Z-axis adapter board may be faulty and need replacement.
If the issue persists, move on to the next step for further check.

#4 Replace the main control board
If none of the above works, the port on the main control board may be faulty.
Please get the board replaced and check if the issue is resolved.
