This article applies to:
xTool S1 with all laser modules.
When you process with xTool S1, issues may occur. For example, the machine stops mid-job and sounds an alarm. You may need to provide the Gcode files and the logs on the SD card for us troubleshoot.
The Gcode files tell the machine how to frame and process. The XCS software generates the Gcode file and sends it to the SD card, and the machine will follow its instructions.
This article will show you how to remove the SD card and save the files to your PC. Please include the exported files when you email our support team via support@xtool.com.
The SD card is under the removeable panel at the rear side of the machine.
Turn off the machine, remove the rear cover and take off the SD card from the main control board.
Caution: Removing the SD card without power-off may damage the card.
Insert the SD card into the reader and plug it into a USB port on a computer.
On Windows, Go to This PC > Devices and drives > USB Drive
Open the USB drive and find the logs and the G-code files. As shown in the below screenshot:
Save them to your local disk so you can provide them to customer support later.
Please do not confuse the logs and Gcode files in the SD card with the ones in XCS. Here we need the ones on the SD card.
Note: The ones in XCS contains the execution info for the machine to run, while the ones on the SD card records the actual movement history.
