Issue Description
When this issue happens, you should see a pop-up error message that says "Communication exceptions between the laser module and the main controller" with the error code "M222 S22".
Troubleshooting
This error message pops up usually because the connection to the laser module is interrupted or unstable. Please follow the steps below to troubleshoot.
#1 Secure the connection cable
Check if the connection cable is properly inserted into the port on the laser module and see if there is any damage of the cable.
If the cable is intact, unplug and replug the cable to make sure of a secured connection.
If the cable is damaged, please contact customer support for further assistance.
If the cable is secured and intact, yet the issue persists, please move on to the next step.
Note: Sometimes the connection cable loosens due to the rapid movement of the laser module. Try the following suggestions to enhence the stability of the cable.
Fasten the cable to the laser module with some removeable adhesive tape or glue.
Place the design at the center of the XCS canvas for processing. This lowers the frequency of the laser module traveling large distances in high speed.
Adjust the wiring of the connection cable according to this video below:
#2 Fix the port pins on the module
Check if the port at the left side of the laser module is intact and the pins are not bent or damaged.
If the pins are bent, get something like a tweezer to straighten the pins. See if it works.
If the issue persists, please contact customer support for further assistance.
