Replace the laser module

1. Remove the original laser module

(1) Move the cable out of the slot, press the connector, and unplug the connector.

(2) Turn the screw counterclockwise to loosen it, and remove the screw and laser module.

2. Install the new laser module (20W)

(1) Install the nozzle connector on the nozzle.

Note that the air vent needs to face the exhaust pipe fixing hole on the cover plate of the laser module.

(2) Insert the plug into the air vent.

(3) Disassemble the thumb screw with a hex key

'(4) Place the laser module into the slot and tighten the threaded rod of the thumb screw.

(5) Fit the handle and fix it with the screw and spring.

3. Complete wiring

(1) Insert the connector of the connection cable into the port on the laser module.30.png
 
(2) Insert the connector of the power cable into the port on the laser module and put the cables into the slot.31.png32.png
 
(3) Bind the connection and power cables together with a cable tie, use cable ties to arrange them on the middle plate, and then shear off the excess part of the cable ties.

(4) Connect the power cable to the power adapter, and connect the power adapter to a power supply.35.png

 

Connect an air pump

The laser module supports air assist devices.
Remove the plug of the air vent, and insert the exhaust pipe into the air vents of the connector and air pump.
Note: No air pump is included in the pack.

Use the focal length piece

By default, the light shield is installed at scale 0. You can use the focal length setting bar to set the position of the laser module.

To cut thicker materials, you can adjust the scale for fitting the light shield to ensure better cutting performance.

Note: After fitting the light shield at a non-zero scale, you need to use the focal length setting piece to set the position of the laser module.

Replace the light shield

If no air assist device is required, you can replace the light shield with the other one delivered with the laser module to ensure better light shielding performance.(1) Loosen the grub screws for fixing the light shield and take the light shield away.43.png
(2) Loosen the grub screws for fixing the nozzle and take the nozzle away.44.png
(3) Put the light shield into the bottom of the laser module and tighten the grub screws back.45.png

  • Is the depth scale for the focal length the same as the 20W module on the D1 Pro? The quick start guide has a different scale for the back plate.
