XCS on Mac System Cannot Find M1 Device Through USB

Issue Description

After connecting the M1 machine to the computer with a USB cable, the machine's name can't be found in the device list under the USB option in XCS, as shown below.

#1 System Integrity Protection on the Mac System Is On

Refer to the following steps to disable SIP.
  1. Turn off the computer. Press down Command, R key, and Power buttons to enter the interface shown below.
  1. Go to Utilities and click Terminal.
  1. Input "csrutil disable" and press the Enter key.
  1. When you see the message saying that "System Integrity Protection is off", the SIP is disabled successfully. Restart the computer.

#2 "RNDIS/Ethernet Gadget" Disabled

  1. Open the System Preferences and go to the Network setting.
  2. Check if the"RNDIS/Ethernet Gadget" is shown in the list.
If yes, you may connect the device to the computer via USB.
If not, move on to the next steps to open it.
 
Connect M1 to the computer via USB, and click the "+" button (as shown below).
Select the driver named "RNDIS/Ethernet Gadget".
Note: This driver only shows up when M1 is connected.
Click Apply.
After the driver is established, the computer will connect to M1 automatically.
You will see the status of RNDIS/Ethernet Gadget shows "Connected".
