First-level calibration on M1 camera
Caution:
The M1 Camera First-level Calibration will modify the system data once and for all and make it unrecoverable. If you are not sure whether yours needs calibration, please contact the xTool after-sales team at support@xtool.com to make sure.
Since M1 Auto-measure works on the basis of the camera calibration file, please calibrate the M1 Auto-measure (Calibrate M1 Auto-measure) after calibrating the M1 camera, or there could be a significant error with the result of the Auto-measure.
For scenarios where:
-
There is a significant error with locating the material.
-
There is a significant deformation of the image of the baseplate captured by the camera in Laser Flat mode.
-
The camera fails to refresh (due to the missing camera calibration file).
Items necessary:
-
An A3-size (297mm×420mm) white paper* several;
-
A computer running Windows 10;
-
A transparent/ white tape;
-
(With or without) An A3-size (297mm×420mm) metal/glass/porcelain plate or materials that do not deform as a result of the laser cutting and with an even and clean surface. (Calibration may fail due to uneven surfaces).
Calibration Steps (video included):
-
Lay the white paper on the baseplate in the white square area, edges to edges. If you have a metal plate, place it first the same way and then the white paper on top of it.
-
Tape the white paper to the surface of the baseplate or the metal plate so it's fixed and flat.
-
Download xTool M1-Camera calibration once.rar and unzip it.
-
Launch FirstCorrect_GU.exe
-
Each function can be tested by clicking on it and checking if the button turns green or not. It's OK if it turns green.
-
Turn on the M1, and connect it to your computer via the original USB cable.
-
Click "连接 Laserbox"(Connect to M1).
-
Click "加工网格点" (Engrave grid points)and it takes about 10 mins to finish.
-
Click "取图" (Capture).
-
Click "生成校准文件" (Generate calibration file)and it takes seconds to finish.
-
The ideal result is that the red grid points and those on the white paper overlap. Those with a slight deviation will be marked with yellow circles, and you may proceed to the next step if there are no more than 15 of them; while when there is a significant deviation, it will be marked with a red circle and you will not proceed to the next step. Check and make sure the paper is flat and repeat the process above.
-
Click "上传校准文件" (Upload calibration file).
-
The calibration succeeds with "出厂校准完成" (Calibration succeeds.) And you may test with a 3mm basswood. If there still is a significant error with locating the material, calibrate again.
- Last but not least, do not forget to calibrate the Auto-measure.Calibrate the M1 Auto-measure
